Wizards unveils MTG Fallout: a C$177 Ravages of War reprint shakes the table

In Wizards' debut today, MTG Fallout's revelation includes a land destruction spell C$177 reprint from 1999, never before properly revisited.

Ravages of War Fallout

Ravages of War, originally part of Portal Three Kingdoms, emerges as one of the game's most costly cards outside the Reserved List. This four-mana spell, capable of destroying all lands, has remained elusive since its inception, with only a 2016 judge promo offering a glimpse.

Ravages of War

Despite its infamy, Ravages of War finds kinship with Armageddon in Commander decks, sharing mechanics and mana cost, albeit with a staggering price difference; $5 for Armageddon highlights the volatility of TCG secondary markets.

Thankfully, Wizards refrains from embedding this controversial card within MTG precon decks. Instead, it's reserved for Fallout Collector Boosters, catering to enthusiasts with deeper pockets.

As Ravages of War joins the MTG Fallout fray on February 20, 2024, alongside a trove of other spoilers, players gain insight into the mechanics shaping these impending Commander decks.
